About this translation

Every Bible passage on this site comes from the same text the Uncanon app uses. It is an older copy of the World English Bible, a translation in the public domain, which means anyone may copy, quote, and share it.

The publisher’s current version, which it calls the 2020 stable text, is at eBible.org. The two copies are close but not identical. When we compared 78 verses side by side, 9 of the 78 differ in wording, and another 9 differ only in punctuation.

The small label under each passage on this site, WEB (public domain), links to this page.
